I have ridden motorcycles since 1977. A bike rider’s perspective is wholly different from a car driver’s. We are exposed to the sun, wind, weather and pavement. We are surrounded by other drivers who, unlike us, are protected by sheets of steel, glass, foam and chrome. The don’t get why we ride and what we have to put up with to ride. I have seen cars and trucks pull in front of me. If have seen how they blow lights and out of parking lots right in front of us, as if we didn’t exist expecting us to stop. I know the dangers for even the most experience, cautious and safest of motorcycle riders. And I know motorcyclists’ rights are often ignored by deputies, patrolmen, troopers, SUVs, trucks and car drivers. I get it.
