On the roads and highways of the state of Florida, large trucks pose a higher risk of death and serious injury than any other vehicle on the road. An 18-wheel truck only makes money while it is delivering its load. Federal regulations only allow drivers to drive a certain amount of time and then require rest. Trucking companies don’t make money when their drivers are resting or their truck is being maintained. As a result, the trucking companies either permit, encourage or tolerate their drivers who keep driving. This greed also makes them skip over properly maintaining their vehicles. Injury by a trucking crash is always the result of trucking company’s greed.
